Today we present officially in the Museum of the Sea of Vigo The Compostelata 2019.
Organised by ANFACO-CECOPESCA, within the framework of the O Teu Xacobeo programme promoted by the Xunta de Galicia, the Food Truck de Taste the can will embark on a 7-stage journey along the french way to Santiago, offering tastings made with preserves of fish and seafood free of charge.
From O Cebreiro (Galicia), on 28 September, to Santiago de Compostela on 4 October and under the slogan “A can in each stage” we will take advantage of the trip to promote the Xacobeo 2021, as well as the image and consumption of these preserves, from their nutritional values to their great versatility in the kitchen.
Each of these stages will be assigned a pincho made with different preserves of fish and seafood and that is where The Compostelata enters the field.
But… what is The Compostelata?
The Compostelata consists of a document with the same characteristics as the famous Compostela, or Pilgrim’s Credential, in which, in addition to accumulating stamps (which will be obtained after having tasted the corresponding skewer in each of the cities), it will be complemented with QR codes that can be scanned from their mobile phones and that will redirect pilgrims towards a website in which they will obtain information about:
- The product: origin, brief history and nutritional values.
- The recipe they have tasted
- The city: history, curiosities and a list of places of tourist interest.
Both the Compostelata and the website will be available in 3 languages: Galician, Spanish and English and the list of stages, dates and products to taste will be as follows:
28th September in O Cebreiro – Mackerel
29 September in Triacastela – Tuna
30 September in Sarria – Zamburiñas
1 October in Portomarín – Cuttlefish
2 of October in Palas de rei – Cockles
3 October in Arzúa – Mussels
October 4 in Santiago de Compostela – Sardine
